Christina Milian has been in the news a lot lately, for one she just broke up with her rapper boyfriend lil Wayne and she just dropped somewhat of single with said boyfriend. Just yesterday though she was on the blogs because her little girl Violet was seen taking a picture with Zendaya with what looks like some pretty heavy braids.
We even posted the picture on Urban Gyal’s Facebook page with a caption that made reference to how much hair was added to the childs head.
At the end of the day Christina is 100% responsible for her own little girl and who are we to decide what she should be doing with her own child.
On the flip side when you post your child on social media you open them up to scrutiny and that she got. She posted the above picture with the following caption:
It’s official. I’m a #1 Mom in my daughters eyes! Last night I was fortunate enough to bring my baby girl @VioletMadison to meet Zendaya at the#InauguralWorldAIDSDayBenefit.
You can’t imagine how much it made her day. Plus she got to see how her selflessness, positive attitude and hard work can help inspire and heal the world. Kudos to you#Zendaya & Your sweet parents. You are a great young lady and I’m happy my daughter has someone to look up to like yourself. Thank you. (And she loved V’s hair)
Well as you can imagine the comments rolled in with everything from accusations of child abuse to women saying they had the same hair on their own head and it was very heavy.
In response Christina posted the following:
For those of you more concerned with Violet’s hair (understandably cause you just don’t know) her hair isn’t in the twists, it’s another method used where they are tied into her corn rows. The hair isn’t heavy. If you’ve ever grabbed a bag of afri braiding hair you know they are very light weight. But just trying new things. Violet likes it and it’s not damaging. Xo
She might be referring to crochet braids but who knows! Comment below, do the twists look heavy?
Renee A M Reives says
Do you boo boo. They look heavy, but that’s her baby girl.
Phoenix McGee says
It’s still way too much in my opinion but she says it’s not damaging so eh. Little girls should look like little girls.
Sierra Tennille says
Sigh, they make large havana twist shorter for kids so there no reason to have her kid looking her neck hurt. That’s her kid so if she like I love it, though.
Ortega Brenda says
Its crocheted into french braids but that doesnt mean its not heavy. I think its too long for her but those are her choices
Nikki Nikki says
Whatever happen to minding your own business and let people do what they want to do once its not hurting anyone smh
Misha Patterson says
It’s hurting her daughters head tho.
Nikki Nikki says
I can understand that but at the end of the day its her problem. People are going to do what they want regardless. Its reality
Dinah Briggs says
Her child, her money, her business, but it does look heavy for her, but that is my opinion.
MarquitaPooh Sims says
I guess that’s why that baby looks like she has no neck….just too heavy but the style is pretty when you use hair for kids her age.
Lynetta Baker says
Her child, her rules. But I wouldn’t be surprised if that little girl’s hairline starts to recede in the next couple of years.
Neki Love Greergirl says
Right!
Curtiss Anderson says
I swear ppl are getting more stupid everyday with their kids. you dont see her with that mess on her head tho.
Victoria Gardner says
It’s too grown
Rosemarie Smith says
Smh, now-a-days ppl saying dem raising kids. Why do these ppl keep harassing these lil kids’ hair!! No wonder they hate their own when they get older!!
Meek Thomas says
No
Summer Rose Smith says
Too heavy!!! She can’t be serious. We are all being punk!!!
Lee Felder says
Man…people need to mind their own damn business. Point blank.
Abigail Afrakomah-Yeboah says
OK we hear its not heavy but how is the little girl able to sleep. And I don’t know why she herself is not trying those braids on. Still stand by my word, this is child abuse
Trisha Clemons says
Christiana. I don’t see all that heavy tight snatch your edges s**t in your hair?
Chelsea A Chelsea says
omg When I saw her girls in a picture a while ago I didn’t know it was her kids. wow
Chelsea A Chelsea says
Even if they arn’t heavy the style swallows up her face. It is to much hair for such a young girl. How can she play with so much hair and not get exhausted. And it’s overall not an age appropriate style for children.
LaMesha says
I agree 100%
Jaime Johnson says
I hate braids for kids sometimes they need it but I personally don’t like it and you definitely gotta keep them up…these are too much..
Dana London says
Ruining that child’s hair, giving her neck, n back issues….. Child abuse! And disgraceful to do as a parent of a young child.
Arika Heard says
Pretty but too much hair
Bunni Waite says
I just had the middle size crochet braids and they was VERY heavy in my head also gave my neck pain too had to take them out after a week on top of swimming in them.. Idk what she talking about don’t get me wrong look great but not worth the pain.
Vivienne Morgan says
Waay too much hair for the little baby. She’s probably taller trying to lay on it than she is standing up. Ridiculous!
Rita Shambray-Clark says
Ladies..please remember our daughters are beautiful with or without long hair!! #pleasetakethats**toutofthatchildhead
Rhonda Andrews says
Its plain Ugly to me.
Lise Williams says
I agree
Metra Makin Moves says
Still too much hair
Wilma Sherman says
She going unda if she get it wet swimming
Alicia Ector says
People sound real ignorant saying this is child abuse. Obviously y’all Dont know what the meaning is. Cause she a celebrity people are always gonna find fault in something. Its not heavy at all and unlike all those commenting I’ve had them. Neck and back problems?? Get real!
Kersha Beaver says
She ain’t going have no edges
Tracy Mendoza says
I have those twist in my hair I have 7 packs and they are so light If I didn’t have it my self I would assume they were heavy but the really aren’t.
Lauren Williams-Dotson says
Ok, so it’s not heavy… But why do they have to be so big and soooooo long??? Make it age appropriate at least.
Barbie Irene says
I don’t know why some people are talking as if some people just want to say negative stuff because the kid is a celebrity’s kid. Why can’t you accept the fact that the hair-do is not age appropriate. I’ve had twists like that too. Long to my back and mind u, my neck hurt. I had to start piling it on top of my head in a bun so as to try and reduce the strain in my neck.
Anna Martin says
People are not making fun of her daughter’s hair it’s looks like those braids should be on a teenager not a child but that’s her child So god bless
Dabney Ross Jones says
What bothers me is that she felt the need to put that much fake hair on her babies head. What is she teaching her about loving her own hair? I think most people were bothered by that. Not that she is a celebrity kid but the reasoning for doing her hair like that in the first place. It just seems unreasonable. Obviously our opinions don’t matter. When it comes to black kids and self image this reaks a mother who teaching her child to value something we have been fighting against in our struggle for self acceptance. It’s just bad.
Naysa Ward says
When you start bashing kids y’all m************ a bunch of haters. This lil girl has hair. Maybe she just wanted the her Hair braided up like any other person. Quit hating. Plenty of ppl get their kids hair braided. With every thing gong on in the world. Ppl are worried about this.smh
Rita Shambray-Clark says
At times we have to help each other, that is too much hair. It takes a village! Not hating on her at all.
Misha Patterson says
You sound really ignorant. Nobody is bashing that little girl. That hairstyle, is simply, TOO MUCH for her lil head.
Kay Dub says
Thank you…
Naysa Ward says
Far from ignorant. But feel free to hop your ass off my status.
Naysa Ward says
And if it wasn’t you that was doing the bashing why the f*** you on my post. Yall commens wasn’t the only comment made so if you wasn’t the one that was hating then you shouldn’t be commenting. Miss me with it. Happy Friday. Misha Patterson
Ashley Elaine Plummer says
Children want a lot of things as a parent you say its not time for that, and just because someone says someting doesnt mean they bashing. It was inappropriate for her age any decent parent knows that
Barbie Irene says
Parents musnt give a child everything she wants. My little sis is 5 and she always wants to wear make up to school. And i always tell her its not time for that. When she’ll be 16, i wont have a prob with that. If the kid wanted artificial hair, theres no big deal. But there are looks for kids her age. Why all that cargo on her head. It doesn’t look cool. Seriously. Anyway, her mom is a celebrity. Sometimes celebrities do some weird stuff just to attract attention. Whatever!!!
Tara Evans says
Naysa Ward I don’t know what planet you on can’t you see that hairstyle is just too much for that child’s head !!!! Or are you the hairdresser that done it! !!
Naysa Ward says
Tara Evans first of all I let people do what they want to do with their kids, just like you wouldn’t want someone telling you how to raise yours. . Bye Felicia. Oh an I don’t think Christina give two f**** about what you think. So miss me Wit the bs. Have a great weekend tho.✋✋✋
Naysa Ward says
And I’ll say it again stop focusing on b******* and worry about some important issues
Antwonna Lucy Smith says
It’s too much for her age
Victoria Kennedy says
When you and the daddy has no neck.then your kid has no neck
Fatima Hussein Odogwu says
Age appropriate hair will do. Your baby does not need to carry a country’s problem on her head..
Leli Cee says
This is crochet. The hair is very light. My daughter wears same style (no colors) but same length, she is eleven. I don’t see what the big deal is? It is a protective style. Maybe the miseducation is the issue? Looks can be deceiving
Sadé Sharee Showers says
Just because its crochet doesn’t mean that it’s light. Her little head must be heavy. My head is heavy right now with crochet medium braids. And like how does she sleep comfortably…lol I’m having these issues but she’ll learn what she likes and dislikes.
Loleeta BaddBy'myself Cobbins says
Maybe the twists are a little to big for this baby’s head. But I wouldn’t call her a bad mom for doing it. Maybe the girl wanted her hair done like everybody else’s. This is a very popular style now. As far as loving your own hair, you can love your hair and still add weave, extensions, whatever to it. everyone that knows about natural hair knows this is a protective style anyway. its only a big issue because she’s famous.
Shayla Battiste says
EXACTLY!
Shayla Battiste says
Woww, these comments! .. lol
Laquayva Anthony says
Too much. I can’t get used to these little girls wearing weaves and oversized braids and twists. Too grown, let them be children.
Krys L Campbell says
Everybody needs to mind their own business
MsCurlyKat says
Sure a pack of braid hair feels light in our hand. Several packs feel light in our hand. But once it is on our head, it feels heavy. Extra ounces added make a difference to your neck, which already has a heavy burden of a skull and brain to support and carry everywhere all the time.
