Best practices when bleaching your lace
Some of us actually prefer to bleach the lace of our frontals* because bleaching is a fool proof way of camouflaging the knots of the wig when done right. When you bleach the lace the color created almost perfectly matches your skin which is why women prefer this technique.
In order to bleach your lace, this is what you will need:
1. Bleach
2. Developer
3. Aluminum Foil
4. Mixing bowl
5. Mixing brush to apply bleach
How to bleach the lace:
Take your bleach and developer and mix according to the instructions on the box. Ensure that the mix is of a thick consistency not too thin so add the bleach in slowly to ensure you get the right consistency. We recommend using a 20 volume developer for your mix and when you start to add the mix to the hair ensure that you move very quickly but at a steady pace so that you do not get bleach in areas that it shouldn’t be.
We also recommend laying the lace flat on an even surface preferably on top of some foil so that you can see your lace clearly and put the bleach on gently, directly on the lace using your brush applicator.
Get the product on the lace as quickly as possible and as even as possible and when you think you have great coverage set your timer for about 15 minutes or for as long as it will take for your bleach to work on your knots.
Shampoo the hair thoroughly with neutralizing shampoo, condition the hair and then allow it to air dry or you can diffuse the hair if it is curly.
Once you have completed the bleaching process you can proceed to pluck your hairline and customize it as we discussed in previous sections.

When to see a stylist
I will be the first to admit that I would love to get a customized wig created by a professional stylist because I think the investment is well worth it.
If you are in the market for a wig and you want one that is made just for you, you can see a wig professional and get fitted for your very own wig.
Your stylist will do a consultation with you and at that appointment, you can discuss what your needs are, they type of wig* you want, any custom colors and of course you can get fitted.
Finally, watch this short clip that somewhat embodies everything we have spoken about so far!
Overall, the most important thing you should remember is making the wig your own and have fun with your investment. We encourage you to purchase a wig at least one time in your life and follow our tips to make it more comfortable for you to wear.
