I distinctly remember someone in the comment section on Facebook saying they have flexi rods* but they do not know how to use them. Well when I read the comment I thought, that’s nothing new, I am sure if we all checked our cabinets way in the back under the cobweb we will find some tool or another that we purchased with great intentions but that were never fulfilled.
If you have flexi rods* then your know that they are great for elongated curly sets especially if you want to do something for a special occasion, but it can also be great for just stretching your hair and having a style that lasts all week. In this video Ameka shows us her flexi rod* set and her pineapple routine she uses to maintain the style.
Ameka chose to do her set on already stretched dry hair so again you can start off the week with one style and recreate a whole other one for the rest of the week or for the next week if you wash bi-weekly.
The key to a great elongated curl is to curl your hair along the length of the flexi rod* without bunching the section of hair on top of itself. By the end of the set you should look a bit like Ursula, but thats ok, we do this in the name of beauty.
You can definitly do the style on wet hair or freshly washed hair, but I am not gonna lie, there is no way I would be able to sleep in those things for an overnight drying session so my preference would be to do the set in the morning and let it dry all day, or, use an over head dryer. Check out Ameka as she demonstrates how she does her set, and feel free to recreate the style
