I will be the first to tell you to just crack two eggs in a bowl, add some honey* and a little cheap conditioner to get a perfect protein treatment. However what if you used just the yolk?
The egg yolk is particularly useful for hair conditioning and moisture which makes it the perfect super food for your hair when you want to get rid of Winter dryness and need some extra conditioning.
It is sort of like going straight to the source of the conditioning properties of the egg, if that makes any sense. To do an egg yolk deep condition start out with freshly shampooed hair and you will need the following.
Deep conditioner* or conditioner of your choice
A separated egg
Honey
A bowl and wooden spoon
Separate the egg by carefully putting a tiny hole in the top and draining the white of the egg. Once that is done add the yolk to a bowl and set the white a side.
To the egg, add your favorite deep conditioner* or conditioner, and then add a little honey* for consistency. Mix the ingredients well and then get ready to apply it to your hair.
Apply the conditioner to your hair in sections so that you can make sure all of your hair is covered especially the ends which tends to get the driest.
Cover your hair with a plastic bag, and allow the mix to marinate a bit (An hour or two). I would suggest using heat to speed up conditioning but I am a little paranoid about using heat and having eggs in my hair which is silly, but that’s just me.
Once you have finished conditioning, rinse your hair out and style as normal. I like to rinse with a cheap conditioner for good measure, but you do not have to do that.
