It is a hard world out her for a curly girl. So many terms to remember. So many techniques to master. Too many products to try and yes even the pros hair bloggers and Vloggers get it all confused from time to time.
Most of us have mastered the everyday words and products like shampoos, conditioners, gels and even sealant but when you add on elixirs, serums, waxes, co-washes or dry oils* it becomes a jumbled mess of words that have no real meaning as they all bleed into one another into our minds.
OK, trying not to sound bleak and negative, I do see this as a revolution for natural women to embrace their hair in its truest form and not look like a frizz ball.
All these items are making our hair easier to manage or at the very least allow us to take care of it properly while looking mind-blowingly hot. They serve a purpose is all I am trying to convey but for some items they tend to harbor less positive reception than others.
Take serums for instance. OK, outside of what the heck are they, they sound too technical and look to small, but a serum is nothing more than a product that is light, fast-absorbing and used as an alternative to or in addition to creams or lotions.
The fluid is saturated in serums and there is a higher concentration of active products (hence, the reason for most of them coming in small bottles or containers). These active ingredients are more expensive than what many lotions and creams are made of so they tend to be pricier than their counterparts for face and hair.
Also, most women associate serums with the face and not hair and with such small containers it seems like a waste. The thing is even though the bottle is small it is highly concentrated in a 1-ounce container that can last months.
If it does not you are being way too heavy-handed. Think of them as powerful, potent products in tiny containers.
