You all know if we find a cool DIY deep conditioner* combination we just have to share it. So this weekend I decided I wanted to deep condition my hair with some good old Jamaican Black Castor Oil* but I wanted to add something to it for extra moisture and definitely some protein.
After a few days of neglect my hair started to feel dry and it was definitely very tangled so my mix had to also include something that could loosen and melt tangles.
My JBCO has a rather potent smell so I picked some strawberries and creme VO5 conditioner as my base, for smell and texture and then I spotted my last can of coconut* milk in the pantry. Perfect!
Coconut milk loosens your curls a bit to reduce tangles, adds healthy fats to your hair and is a great light protein treatment for your hair.
I have an empty jar that I keep around because when I make my mix in it, there is enough product to cover ‘my’ whole head.
In your jar or bowl add the following:
JBCO about 1/4 cup – It strengthens your hair, has anti fungal properties and encourages hair growth.
Coconut milk – mix the the coconut* milk just in case the ingredients are separated and add 3 heaping table spoon fulls
Cheap conditioner – I love Vo5 but you can use any conditioner you like! Use enough to make your mix pliable and not runny.
Mix your conditioner concoction well in your jar and apply the mix as you would a relaxer making sure every strand of your hair is covered root to tip.
Cover your hair with a plastic cap and sit under your dryer for 20 mins or if you want to steam, sit under your steamer* without the plastic cap for the alotted amount of time. I decided to go with the dryer instead of a steamer* today!
Once you are done, head to the shower and rinse your hair add more conditioner and style as you would. If your scalp needs shampoo then by all means cleanse your scalp if not, this is more of a 2 step co wash process 1. deep condition and then 2. cowash then style.
The guaranteed results?
Soft, moisturized, smooth, darn near detangled, naturally shiny curly hair; perfect for whatever style you would do for the week.
What deep conditioner* mixes have you tried lately?

Can someone tell me what Co wash is?
Nasheka Medley says
I don’t recommend it. The scalp needs to be shampooed to get rid of build up .
Kim Jay says
I just assumed it meant something like a pre wash. But now I have to Google it. Lol
Mary Evans says
A co wash is using conditioner with out shampoo
