My jaw is on the desk, and I’m stunned to silence…*drops mic* Watch the video and give us your thoughts. Harmless fun or shameful?

What the fuck it’s about the pocket book. .come on now. .
Marsha Buchanan says
Sure she is promoting the bag but it sounds to me like she was poking fun at the model’s afro.
Shelley warren says
Make me not want to purchase
Steen How says
Also forgot my Christian values…but some natural Nazis need to whoop both their a$$es OR we need to have a letter written to the companies for an apology. That’s just not right smh
Brenda Williams says
I agree that an apology is in order form the Dooney and Bourke company and those women should be fired! What is sad is that those women are representative of some peoples real ignorance. It makes me so sad.
Chelsea says
Yes this was very shameful. But I will not be.mad at these women who made the remarks because they have not been educated on black hair. Also from what I’ve read they have since made an apology. I don’t think they knew it was natural hair style but also it shows you that they personally didn’t like it. Even if they did know it was a natural hair style they obviously didn’t like they way it looked. I think the only difference if they had known it was a natural hairstyle that they wouldn’t have been as insensitive and made those comments on camra
Elaine says
That’s just not a good way to sell anything. She clearly has no skill and did not know what to say. Many white women are fascinated with black hair, wishing they had the same thickness and fullness. This broad is just not one of them.
Gwen says
Stupid women. They must have been living under some rocks. Natural hair did not just happen yesterday. They knew exactly what they were doing. Reprimands, apologies and diversity training is the definite order of the day. Also, no more appearing on TV for either one. They tend to up the ignorance factor by 2.
Timeka Chaney says
The fact that anyone thinks it’s appropriate to ridicule another is just ridiculous. The ignorance of these two women is just saddening. That model is owed an apology. Along with the many who are highly offended by their rude remarks. You are there to sell a handbag focus on your job.
Monica says
It seemed as if the model was affected by the comments. Her facial expression seemed uneasy and she seemed to nearly pause while she was modeling. Their behavior seemed very elementary schoolish.
Paula Strahan says
I can’t believe that they expect us to believe the pathetic statement the host posted on facebook. She tried to make us believe that they were not talking about the model, but clearly, hair only became a topic of conversation when the model came out to show the bag. Was this a racially motivated statement? No, I don’t believe that, I believe it was 2 mean girls speaking before thinking. I have already sent a letter to QVC, expressing my distaste, and I immediately requested that Dooney & Bourke remove my name from their mailing list.
Dee says
Why don’t you share that information so I can complain? Let me say, I get harassed by Black men on my job and they tell me “I don’t do Kinky hair” women or Black women. I had Black man who left a comb on my desk, another asked me to get a weave or find a hairdesser!
Mind you I had 3 White men told me today your hair is stunning and you look great!
I’m not dating anymore Black men I’m sick of them!
Bonita McKnight says
Not only shameful but very unnecessary, not to mention atrocious behavior from so call professionals!!
tina says
I don’t believe it had anything to do with her ethnicity or her hairs natural state. Everyone has pics that they look back on and wonder “what was I thinking” about their hair.
The girls hair was big. I lot of ppl stopped wearing their hair curly and big along time ago. It’s not that serious.
D.Craig says
This is very serious. These two women are supposed to be professional sales people. Part of their job includes being mindful of their internal and external thoughts. When they are speaking to the public, they are representing the companies they work for. They speak on behalf of those companies. There is no justification for why they did. Both did a lousy job this time. I have been a QVC shopper for some time now and I have worn my natural hair even longer. I believe I will refrain from shopping QVC for a while. Doomey and and Bourke will not receive any of my hard earned cash either.
Ooh, it's LaLa says
After reading the postings and watching the video, I immediately emailed QVC to express my feelings regarding the comment about the model’s hair made by the host Sandra Bennett. Within 3 hours, I received a written apology from QVC. I was told that Sandra has made a public apology on social media and phoned the model Michelle to apologize to her.
I just want to let those in the natural hair community know that QVC and the host have extended an apology.
Mycerdia says
They should have it’s only right! Kudos to you for making that first step and emailing them.
Naturalgal4u says
I read that the host apologized on her Facebook page. Her name is Sandra Bennett and it is under Sandra Bennett QVC. It seemed genuine, so I am letting it go. I chalk all of this madness that is going on in the world up to a sin condition, and no matter what, things will be this way until Yeshua returns. I don’t mean to get all deep and spiritual… well maybe I do, but nothing should take people by surprise when living in a world where sin exists. I am not dismissing or accepting the wrong hurtful things that people say or do, I am just making a conscious effort to do my best not to perpetuate the situation any longer.
Teresa says
When you know better you do better. They need to research African culture they might be surprised how much they can learn.
monica davis says
are you serious right now?????This had nothing to do with her hair. I have looked back on many pictures and saw my hair style and was like “what was I thinking”?. This was totally about the purse. Stop making something out of nothing. There is legitimate racism in this country…focus on that and not this nonsense.
