Are Baby Hairs Making A Comeback?

FKA TwigsThe small and sometimes not so small wispy hairs on the perimeter of the hairline that are often very fine and typically found on a small toddler, thus the name “Baby Hair”, have made a comeback.

They can be natural or manufactured but however they come about, the result isn’t accomplished without tedious and masterful skill.  It’s all in the “flicka da wrist”,  as Chedda Da would say. Although I’m sure mastering the fine art of baby hair wasn’t the inspiration for his 2015 chart-topping hit.

While some hair trends should forever remain in the cloak of childhood like Ducktails or any hairstyle that involved the use of Pink Lotion or Black Pro Style Gel, the fanciful creation of baby hairs seem to have made a resurgence. As we know, most trends are cyclical and now is the time for the latest generation to give their take on it.

TLC’s Chilli, the posterchild for baby hair envy, spearheaded the movement back in the 90’s, with her iconic edges gloriously laid to the heavens! Honestly, I can’t think of anyone who predates Chilli’s look.

Whoever inspired her has inspired the masses, including one FKA Twig, a millennial who’s version of the slickity-slick swirls have produced a wave of widespread baby-hair love.

Even Kim Kardashian has confessed her regret of having her baby hair laser removed. ‘My forehead had all these little baby hairs, and I would always break out because of them,’ the 35-year-old wrote.

‘Every photographer would Photoshop them out anyway, and I thought I looked better without the baby hairs, but now I miss them [sic].’ Perhaps her nostalgia has resurfaced since seeing how lovely they are on her daughter, North.

So while we’re in the midst of this inspirational ocean of waviness, I say, let’s continue this baby-hair world domination, one glob at a time. How focused are you on baby hair revival? Comment below!

It’s the short soft hair around the edge of your hair and it doesn’t need to be oiled or manipulated…it’s just there…

They shouldn’t unless they’re natural fly always you have! Won’t catch me pulling out my actual hair and gelling it to my forehead unless it’s just my NATURAL baby hairs or fly always that already lay down. Its funny howi was teased for being “hairy” when i was little because mine naturally laid down. Now its a trend at ANY COST to get them. Lol!!!!!!!

Even if they are y’all females need to stop slick and down your baby hairs and edges all the time that’s not good for your hair either you don’t mess around and not have nine with all that jail and jam and sprints and edge control. Let your hair breathe from all the heavy products suffocating your hair from growing
