How many of you follow CharyJay on Instagram? I do because lets face it if there is any lady who knows how to pull together a style CharyJay is that girl. On Instagram she rocked the cutest set, I mean most of her styles are cute but I liked this one because I had a hunch it involved my beloved perm rods*.
If you know me, you know I love some perm rods* and I have every size except the extra big ones because I love how uniform they get your curls and they can make the tiniest curls which regular rollers cannot do.
Finally CharyJay put the tutorial online and as I suspected it was a style that involved perm rods*, and a lot of them, she called the style Summer ready curls.
We all know that Summertime is wash and go season but not everyone can do a wash and go and live to tell the tale. This hairstyle can mimic the freedom of a wash and go without the tangles and issues that might come with it.
As usual we have a few tips for getting your perfect rod set:
1. Use a styler – Gel, or curling cream are perfect stylers and they allow the curls to really set and stay put for a couple of days
2. Do the set on dry hair – You can attempt a style like this on wet hair but, baby let me tell you that the drying time might just make you decide that this is too much. It is fine if your hair is damp so that it can dry overnight or maybe a thirty minute session under a dryer in comparison to 60 minutes.
What we don’t like about this style
You can’t get your hair wet, this is not the type of style you can run to the gym in, or wear in the rain, for perm rod curls to last you need to use a decent styler with hold and stay away from humidity.
