Lets recap, we did a classic French roll with a twist, the French Chignon low bun and how could we leave out the very classic and so protective French braid. The video tutorial we are about to share shows a chic French braid starting from the nape of the head and ending with heavy fringe bangs at the crown. I loved this style especially if you are in that awkward medium length stage, it is a great way to keep your hair protected with a little but of edge on the top.
As usual there are options, you can choose to do a bun at the crown, or a pompadour or just leave your hair out like Carmen did. If you do leave your hair out, we want to suggest some edgy things you can do to it, great for a night out or a club night.
1. Try a splash of color using Maybelline’s color tattoo eye shadow for some temporary highlights. We did a post on this back in March and it is the quickest, most fun way to add color without damaging your hair. Check out the post here.
2. Use perm rods* to create a mini curly fro at the crown. Using your small to medium perm rods* just dampen your hair use a bit of styling product and roll your hair in no specific order, allowing it to dry. Remove the rollers and fluff the curls, you will have the cutest fro at the top we guarantee. You can even add the color we talked about in number 1.
3. Flat twist the crown of your hair in one direction either left or right in three rows for some side swept bangs. This is as easy as just knowing how to do a flat twist, all your have to do is moisturize the hair, add some oil to seal and some styling product to set the twists. Release the twists once dry and you will get perfect textured side swept bangs
Well that’s it, check out the video below as Carmen demonstrates how she does her French braid updo:
