If you haven’t noticed already, Crochet Braids have made a big come back, especially among the natural ladies. Whether you are using Marley hair or Remi, there are many different types of hair that can be used with endless style possibilities.
With that said, there is a new spin on crochet braids, namely the Crochet Curly Puff. Yes, for the ladies who love to wear puffs that may have short hair, or hair that may even be too long for puffs…all is not lost! Gorgeous Youtuber Msnaturally Mary show us how she does a high puff with her crochet braid protective style.
Items Needed
Moisturizer: Cantu Shea Butter Leave in* Conditioner works, but you can use any moisturizer that works with your hair.
Setting Lotion: Motions Foam Wrap Lotion (Extra Hold). If you cannot find this setting lotion, LottaBody Setting Lotion should do the job as well.
Light Pink Perm Rods*: Msnaturally Mary uses these perm rods* to achieve the curl size shown in this video, but you can also use any type of perm rods* to achieve your desired curl size.
Wide Tooth Comb*: To part and set your leave out hair on the rollers.
Hair Pins and an Elastic Headband*: To put up the crochet braids, and to pin up any leave out hair.
Length required for this style
Since this style is achieved using crochet braids, your natural hair length isn’t required. If you aren’t too keen on using hair extensions*, and have at least 6 inches of hair, you can achieve a variation of this style. You can even achieve this style with natural, relaxed, or transitioning hair.
Now, in the video she has already curled her leave out, but she still demonstrates how she uses the rollers, and how much of her hair she leaves out. I love this look and I hope that you guys do too! What do you think?
