Are you looking for an effortless and chic updo that only takes a few minutes? Well look no further! Naptural85 has done it again – she shared her gorgeous ‘messy’ bun tutorial which we broke down into pictures, that looks like it’s perfect for any occasion. If you have shorter natural hair, you can adapt the tutorial to your hair length and give yourself more volume.
What You Need:
Headband
This style can be done on either a flexi rod* or Curlformers* set. It would be better to do this style on freshly taken down hair, but it can be done on older hair too.
Dip your head forward, and slide the headband* on like you would for a normal puff
If there’s enough elastic to wrap around twice, do so. If not, twist the headband* and bobby pin it down in the back of your head to secure the extra material
Gather your curls into your hands and fold them back. Secure them in the back with bobby pins*
Gel and brush down your edges
If it’s easier for you to pin each curl back individually, you can do so. The point is to have a neat, unified look that also isn’t too time consuming. To get the most out of your style, try not to separate your curls too much. This can cause frizz and ruin the look that you were going for.
Also, if you notice that the shorter pieces of your hair don’t reach back as far as the longer pieces, don’t worry. Instead of stretching the strand too far, simply pin halfway into the bun.
This style takes less than five minutes and it’s super easy. If you want to try a variation of your typical Curlformers* or flexi rod* set, you can try this easy bun. It’s simple and gorgeous enough that it’s perfect for almost any situation that you can think of! For full video tutorial click here.
