Embracing you hair no matter what the hair type, color or length can be a challenge for some women especially when everything is new and you may feel a little self conscious about what it is that you now see in the mirror. If embracing your crown in a challenge then treat it as such and challenge yourself to embrace your hair and the new you with these five simple steps.
1.Get to know her
Her (your hair) is a mixture of coils, curls and kinks that are entirely unique to you! Touch your hair, examine its parts and get to know what it does and how it behaves. With a host of blogs, videos and messages, hair knowledge can get super confusing. The good news is no matter what they say no one can tell you about your own hair as much as you can. Hair needs vary from head to head, write down if your hair is prone to dryness, does it like water every day? Does coconut oil* irritate your scalp? Is your texture looser in the front than in the back or on the sides? Does your hair like glycerin? Or does it prefer Aloe Vera Juice*!? Are you a high end product kind of girl? All these questions are personal and can only be answered by your own experience so take some time and get to know your hair.
2. Do not be afraid to live on the wild side
Challenge yourself! For example on the weekend wear your hair at its simplest and most free, do nothing extra. Keep the regimen simple and go out enjoying the wild hair that you have. Doing this challenges you to be confident in your own skin, so what you only spritzed it with water today? Maybe after an entire week of products water is all she needs. Become a minimalist for 3 days out of the week creating a pattern or a habit of acceptance.
