For the past week I have seen pictures of Halle Berry’s beautiful daughter Nahla rocking a head full of colorful braids. Considering Halle has been a very private person especially with regards to her kids I could kind of understand why it would make the news.
This was via Essence:
Halle Berry is one of the most private celebrities in Hollywood. So while we cannot get enough of her, she’d rather make her movies and stay close to family.
The working mother of daughter, 8-year-old Nahla and 2-year-old son Maceo likes to keep a low profile on social media as well. She’s on but you gotta work hard at seeing her through her highly artistic pics.
So we were extra excited when the Oscar winning actress took a moment to share a fun photo on Instagram of Nahla with a head full of braids with colorful yarn interwoven into each plait.
I must confess though at first, I did not see the big deal, anyone of us could have done that with our little girl so why was everyone going nuts over it? But then I thought about it, a part from Halle being a celebrity it was probably a great moment shared between mom and daughter.
Ya’ll know what it is like to share quality time with your daughter over a hairstyle that she is looking forward to right?
Those moments are so exciting for her as it was for me and you when our moms and grandmothers did our hair. Not to mention if you tell her you are adding color to her braids via yarn, you already know how many brownie points you would get for that.
The point is I had to check myself, despite my initial thoughts the braids are cute because Nahla loved them and her mom was happy to do them for her.
The caption on Halle Berry’s Instagram account where she shared her masterpiece was simple:
Vacation occupation? Hairstylist to my favorite little lady.
Comment below if you have a daughter that loves to have stuff added to her hair?
