I’m currently relaxed, at EL and started my journey July 2012. I would just love opinions and/or possible suggestions to the current regimen I came up with for myself.
– At night I give my hair a mist of water. Then moisturize with Carol’s daughter Marguerite’s magic, follwed by sealing with either coconut oil or CD’s hair balm. Then I roll my hair with foam satin covered rollers. In the morning I run my fingers through the curls so they don’t look so tight and then spray on CD’s Black Vanilla Leave in conditioner. Sometimes I wear a headband (non-comb) or pin back with bobby pins.
I want to relax my hair every 12 weeks so I came up with a 12 week cycle:
It looks to be a good regimen Portgreen. I would move the motions cpr DC to week 2 instead of week 3. Hair loses a lot of cysteine after a relaxer and even though you are doing your aphogee the week before relaxing, motions cpr is only a light protein so will be ok to use the week after too.
No need to spritz with water daily (you may invite hygral fatigue), you can get away with the carols daughter moisturizer and a sealing oil most nights and towards the end of the week when your hair may be feeling drier you can do the water spritz.
Make your rollersets a once a week affair instead of daily, your hair is short enough at the moment to get away with just a satin scarf over your hair every night without having to tie it back then in the morning you can fluff your style and go.
Another thing, there is no need to shampoo weekly, you don’t sound like you are using too many cones (except for what is in your conditioners) so you may want to think about shampooing every other week and treating your hair to co washes instead.
