14. You can teach your daughter to love her hair
A mother is a little girl’s best and first teacher of confidence and self love, and at tender ages it is easier to show her how mommy loves her hair and how she can do the same. It just comes off more genuine if mommy also has natural hair.
15. You have help
Along the lines of our point of a great community, there are so many women on YouTube trying out different things with their natural hair, you can learn from their successes and from their failures as well.
They do not hide anything and most of our favorite YouTubers are very honest and love sharing new things they have learned.
16. Its fun
There is no denying the fact that natural hair can be downright fun. Discovering how your hair works is fun. Wearing your hair huge and blocking folks at the theater is fun. Knowing that you have a choice in wearing your hair sleek and waist length or wearing a cute curly pixie cut is fun.
17. Natural hair is hot
Yes loves, wearing the hair that is grows out of your scalp is hot, not because we feel like motivating you at this very moment but because you will never find another head that looks like yours, we promise you that, and THAT fact alone makes you unique and hot!
18. You will be the boss of your hair
No longer will you be subject to a stylist who claims to know everything about your hair while you are sitting in her chair at her mercy.
You are in complete charge of your natural hair care. You can choose never to see a stylist again or you can choose to partner with a great stylist for the best hair care for you.
19. Your buns are thick huge and amazing
There is something about a natural haired sistah rocking a massive top knot bun. Maybe that the bun is magical, you will just have to go natural to find out!
So there you have it. I hope I have convinced a few of you reading this who were on the fence about returning to your natural texture. Whatever that texture is and regardless how clueless you are right now, you simply don’t know what it will be like to be natural until you try!
20. Going natural is the way nature intended it
There can be no denying that what grows out of your own scalps is the most organic and beautiful thing. It is the way your creator intended it.

This is a good article. I went natural for almost 3 years, but relaxed again almost a year ago, I loved my natural hair, but at the end of the day I needed get up and go hair. I’m up at 4:30 for work and just no longer wanted to deal with taking out twists etc. BTW, if a woman is practicing healthy relaxed hair care, some of what you listed here can apply to relaxed hair. For example, since I rarely wear my hair bone straight anymore, rain doesn’t leave me running for cover and I can go to the gym and not care about sweating my hair out. But all in all, even though I am no longer natural, I do love the natural hair community and one day when time is no longer such an issue, I will return to natural hair.

I got my last perm January 2000, so I’m approaching 14 years without the creamy crack. It was one of the best choices I made. I never looked back and I never will. I only recently started caring for my own hair and paying attention to the ingredients in products. I use heat very sparingly now instead of once a week and I’ve learned to use nature to my benefit. This journey is awesome!!

I need someone with 4C hair, like mine, to give me her positive points. I can’t gather them from a 3A-C person.

Natural hair is so much easier to deal with especially during the summer time. I just wash and go! I always thought that natural hair would be harder to maintain but it was the total opposite for me since I started working out more. Now my hair feels healthy, I experience less breakage, and I can switch up my hairstyles from curly to straight. During my transition, I used Nutress Hair’s transitioning kit which helped tremendously! I definitely recommend these products if anyone on here is thinking about going natural. 🙂

#1 Reason I go natural in the summer: Mississippi heat. You’ve got underboob and scalp sweat walking two feet to the car lol
