Spring is a little less than two weeks away, and you know what that means: It’s time to make some changes! Not only are we dealing with new weather conditions and all the problems that come with them, but we might be faced with the fact that we are long overdue for a look revamp.
We have to switch out products and start new regimens, look for cute and trendy hairstyles to fit with the season, and maybe even give our hair a little trim in order to beat the heat!
I know it sounds like a lot of work, but no worries, ladies! Below are 4 very simple ways you can prepare your hair for the season!
Invest In Anti-Humidity Products
Airborne humidity is naturally higher during warmer seasons so we almost expect humid weather conditions to have some sort of effect on our hair. For those of you ladies that love to rock a straight style or experience shrinkage of epic proportions, this can be a problem. The quick solution? Invest in some anti-humidity products.
An anti-humidity or anti-humectant*, product will block out moisture in order to decrease frizz, control shrinkage, and prevent your hair from reverting back to its natural curl pattern after manipulation. Most anti-humectants get the job done but have one drawback: silicone is one of the main ingredients.
A lot of naturals run from silicone like the plague but in the case, they can actually be beneficial to you because they are not water soluble and will keep unnecessary moisture out of your hair. If you are completely over the idea of using silicone for anything, just seal your cuticles with a natural sealant like avocado or castor oil* before or after styling.
