When caring for your own hair, technique and patience are two important things to remember. However, finding the right products for your hair are also important for creating the best regimen.
You read lots of product reviews, ask for samples at numerous stores, and even compare different reviews on numerous blogs. Then you find yourself purchasing the products you have read about and others you just happen to see at the beauty supply store. Now that you have all of these products…how exactly are you going to use them?
I had 28 products at one point: 2 clarifying shampoos, 3 sulfate-free shampoos, 7 leave-in conditioners, 2 deep conditioners, 9 oils*, 5 styling products. To me, this was literally a problem, but I couldn’t help myself. I had a tendency to go down the hair aisle when I knew I needed nothing, but went down anyways just to see if there was anything new out.
Sometimes this trip would take about 45 minutes of my grocery shopping time! I would even purchase certain products multiple times that I knew didn’t work for my hair (like Crème of Nature and natural Argan oil*), because I wanted them to work so badly.
I subscribed to a few beauty boxes just to hope and pray I get something that would help my hair do ‘something.’ I would spend lot of money and time trying to figure out what works best for my hair.
Even when I considered my hair to be very healthy, I would have no idea which product helped my hair to retain the length nor the health. On the other hand, there were times my hair would thin out and I had no idea what caused it. My regimen was not consistent whatsoever.
I’m here to share that the ‘perfect curl’ nor ‘hair growth’ doesn’t comes directly in a bottle. There is no product that is going to speak sweet things to your scalp to make your hair grow 1 inch in a week or 10 inches in 3 months. You would see commercials with products that would ‘grow’ the actress’ hair and do magical things as well, when all of that is just fairy dust…not real.
The product may make your scalp tingle for a bit or make your eyes all googly from the featured ingredients on the bottle, but then you are left with nothing but empty pockets because you spent your money on disappearing glitter and gold.
