Braided Mohawk Style For New Years Eve

Braided Mohawk style for New Years Eve

Where the party at girls?!! Whitney aka Naptural85  is the business when it comes to hair styling, and her braided mohawk is right on time for New Years Eve, so of course we had to share it.

I prefer a dutch braid myself only because it is the easiest for me to do with my eyes closed. For a style like this, Whitney suggests working with stretched hair, and that is probably ideal since you have to section the hair so much. When your hair is textured it tangles much more easily than it does when it is stretched making a braided style harder.

With that said this is also perfect for straight or relaxed hair especially if you are going through a stretch. She also added some synthetic hair to the style, because it really helps to get the look you want to achieve when you do not have enough to work with.

Don’t be afraid to do what you have to do to make your style pop, nobody cares about some little old added hair, what matters is that you feel good once your hair is done, so add color, add texture, add what you need to add to make it right.

On new years eve, the vibe is always so festive, a lot of dancing, and jumping around you know how ya’ll are when you get ‘turnt up” so having your hair up or braided so that you can put on your party hat and dancing shoes without losing your hair style might be best.

Our suggestion for new years eve is always, to keep your style  simple and effortless so that you can really enjoy yourself, this is probably one of the main reason we loved this video.

  • Nice thick hair but i dont like the style.

  • Ugly

  • Maybe if it was a bit more together or something, the idea is good but that looks like its just up there….I’m sorry…but hey someone likes it:)

  • I love that hair

  • Hmmmmm. :-/

  • I don’t like it!

  • I UNDERSTAND THE NATURAL HAIR…. BUT IT COULD AT LEAST LOOK NEAT!!!

  • Really, lol it’s called a French Braid! Not a Mohawk, lol!

  • Beautiful

  • That is plain raggedy and unpolished

  • That’s Whitney

  • I see most the relaxer girls dnt like it lol… That’s what a French braid looks like on thick curly hair lol

  • Natural hair does not need to look polished, perfect and fully defined. Everyone’s hair type is different. A guy on my job had the nerve to tell me that i did not comb my hair. He thought my coils were uncombed hair. Asked me if i was “going dread”. What if i *was*? Should that offend him? I know he’s still used to my long pre-cut relaxed hair. His opinion that my natural hair is ‘ugly’ (not said out loud, which would be offensive’) doesn’t really matter to me. I wear my hair for me. On my job my 4 female coworkers all wear weaves (one stopped now that her own hair is now down her back.). Soi know my hair is compared to their perfectly coifed hair. No it doesn’t make mine UGLY though.

  • But, yes, everyone is entitled to their opinion i guess. I just don’t think every opnion is nice enough to be VOICED. o, that’s just My Opinion.
